San Diego for Thanksgiving

Tuesday, December 2, 2014

I hope everyone had a fabulous thanksgiving!  We decided to do things a little different this year and fly out to California to spend the holiday with Chad's brother. We normally have a tradition Thanksgiving at home in Oklahoma so it was a little bitter sweet but nice to still be with family during the holiday.

Chad's brother and his family actually just moved to California from Hawaii and as most people would have wished to go to Hawaii rather than California, Chad and I were super excited when we got the news that they were moving out to California. I would have loved going to Hawaii but that flight, me oh my, would that have been a long one for only a short visit.

Anyways, we decided to fly into San Diego to spend some time there and then drive out to 29 palms where he is stationed. We had a blast in San Diego, we visited the zoo, took in some local restaurants including in-n-out, and also visited the pacific ocean before making our way to 29 palms.

(Isn't he cute)

(Chad's favorite animal, they weren't out the first time we stopped by so of course we had to come back to catch them)
(Impressive)

(backdrop to the movie "Some like it Hot", I think I need to put it on the Netflix now)

(Hotel Del Coronado)

I am loving the Spanish style houses out in San Diego. I also fell in love with this bluish greenish color I saw on a lot of the homes out there. Just gorgeous

Stay tuned for the rest of our trip and our Thanksgiving weekend.
