Well after a sappy post a few days ago here is a light hearted one. We are just a few short weeks away to meeting our baby girl and 3rd trimester has hit me like a ton of bricks this past week.

Memory:  75% gone, it is pure mush and is basically pointless for me to be working right now. I cannot remember a dang thing, even something I did yesterday nor the things I do every day.  Pregnancy brain + mom brain = memory loss on steroids. I’ll have a meeting at work and completely forget what was discussed by time I get back to my desk.

Clothing: Wedding rings are still on and I’m holding out, my feet on the other hand, I can barely wear shoes other than flip flops and tennis shoes. Clothes are starting to get a lot tighter and I cannot wait to be able to work out again, well that’s what my body is telling my brain right now we all know I’ll make every excuse in the book to not work out but I’m hoping for the best. I’ve given up worrying if my belly is showing or not and completely look like Rachel on Friends (no shame in this game).

Food: HA! Nothing sounds good and I cannot eat a full meal in 1 setting or I’ll get super sick. Meal planning is out the window and my poor husband has been on a healthy kick and I could be happy eating pizza every night for dinner. I haven’t had too many cravings lately but I cannot get enough water which has to be ice cold and I am loving the Chobani flip yogurts. I have figured out that Gatorade makes me super sick and nauseous. I really hope that isn’t the case after she’s here because I lived off Gatorade while I was breastfeeding Grady last time around. Oh and everything gives me heartburn/indigestion I thought I could ride it out but I’ll probably we stopping and getting some medicine this weekend.

Nursery: We are almost done!!! I cannot wait to share this room with you it’s been a huge project and one of my favorite rooms in the house. I just have some small items to purchase and then organizing and we will be done.

Nesting: Well this came out of the blue. I all of a sudden had a burst of energy and want everything spotless. You know the cleaning that only happens when you are on your cycle or about to give birth. The other day I had an urge to clean and dust the baseboards in our bedroom which meant moving all the furniture to the center of the room. Last night I was playing with Grady in the kitchen and just had to Old English our kitchen cabinets and baseboards. I was on a kick that I probably wouldn’t have eaten dinner if it wasn’t for my husband forcing me. We haven’t polished our baseboards since Grady destroyed them with his walker so it needed it bad and it looks so good now. Although I know myself and I’ll want my house to be spot less forever and I’ll drive my husband crazy with the littlest things.

Baby: What you guys really want to know about right? Baby is doing great, she was hiding her face at our doctor's appointment so we did not get a good picture of her. She better have a lot of hair with this heartburn I am having however. She is chilling out and still not all the way dropped which my body is telling me differently.

Holy Moly we are in the home stretch!!! To say I’m nervous, anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted is an understatement. We still do not have the nursery complete and right now I’m thinking it’s not going to be complete until she’s actually here. Everything that I have bought and that needed painting needs about 5 coats of paint. Sleep is a thing of the past and the only way she falls asleep is if I’m lying on my back which I know is not good. Food is starting to disgust me and I do not feel like eating anything. I have gotten really bad indigestion this time around, not a fan for the record. And the Braxton hicks are kicking in hard core. My due date is September 10th and Chad and I are starting to make guesses as to when she’s going to come. I’m saying the 5th and he’s saying the 7th. She is head down but isn’t in the birth canal quite yet. My wedding rings are still on and super tight! We got our double stroller in the mail over the weekend and now I’m thinking I need a minivan. Things are moving a lot faster than I would like them to and I just need time to slow down so I can enjoy these last few weeks being a family of 3.

When Chad was taking this picture he was telling Grady that this was a big belly picture... Geez thanks honey.

Nothing much has changed besides I’m starting to freak out that she is coming no matter how prepared I am. I started making a list of all the things I need to do before she’s here and there’s a lot more on the list than what I thought there would be. We had our 28 week appointment and the doctor confirmed that she is head down which is a huge relief in my books and then this past week I noticed that she is a lot lower than normal and I just know that she has dropped, baby girl I need you to stay in there till at least the first of September!! My tailbone and back have really been killing me and I cannot wait to get a postpartum massage. I got one after Grady and it was a HUGE treat. Any who pretty boring on the pregnancy front but I cannot wait to show you the nursery, once we get it finished that is.

I’m a fat whale and look like a fat hamster stuck in its slide, especially when I’m trying to squeeze into a non maternity outfit. My feet have grown a half size and I’m too cheap to buy new shoes. I’m holding on to my wedding rings although they are starting to get tight as well. And it’s HOT like really hot, yes I realize it’s only June too! Ok enough complaining. Things are moving especially well and I’m getting things checked off the to-do list which gives me huge motivation. Although I’m complaining I really do love being pregnant it is a true gift and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. Since this is my second pregnancy things are a little looser, downstairs. I have farted twice at work with one of those times being a walking fart and I sure hope no one has noticed. I do try and cover it up and pretend like I tripped or it was my phone but let’s get real, people aren’t that stupid. Now that I’m further along when you got to go, you got to go like 2 minutes ago. The multiple bathroom breaks at night have started and I am dying of thirst in the middle of the night as well. I’m still craving sweets and have noticed it is doing a number on the way my clothes fit these past few days/weeks. The online shopping is getting a little over board, I’m hot and need more dresses instead of all the winter maternity clothes that I do have. And if Chad mentions one more time that I’m harming the baby with that 1 cup of coffee I drink I’m probably going to slap him. I mean I’ve really thought about getting one of those pregnancy belly’s and making him walk around with it and also I really want to hook him up to a labor machine to have him experience child birth.

Ok does my hair not look like goofy's hat on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? (total mom move)

The room is painted!!!! I sure hope she is girly because it is pink in there. So surreal walking into her room and seeing pink everywhere, I still cannot believe I’m having a little girl.  Maybe it’s the fact of having a boy first but it’s still shocking that I’ll be dressing a little human in bows and girly outfits and can I just admit that there is so much more to a little girls outfit. There’s not just a sleeper you put her in there has to be the right bow to go along with it, ahh. I’m a little behind on my posting of weekly updates I’m almost 28 weeks and we have our diaper bash this weekend which I am very excited about.

I am currently craving Panera mac and cheese, and just so you know they sell it at Target and it’s cheaper and as an added plus both Chad and Grady do not care for it so it’s all mine. Oh and by the way can I just vent here and say that people really need to work on their pregnancy talk for example I was in CVS and a stranger asked how long I had after telling him he proceeds to tell me “oh my you got a while to go and in the summer to, that’s going to be hot” Thank you for reminding me I didn’t already realize that. And then at work I had 2 people mention why big and uncomfortable I looked. And 1 of them going as far as saying that they never got that big when they were pregnant, geez thanks? As far as movements , she is no longer a laid back little girl as I mentioned in a previous post. She is all over the place and loves to flip and turn in every sort of way. Kind of like her mom, she cannot sit still for long.

I am having the most difficult time buying clothes for our little girl. I just do not know what my style is. She’ll definitely be in sleepers for the first 3 months but I just can’t decide on bows and then 6+ month outfits. I’m not a big bow person but I just can’t find really cute cheap bows that I like right now. I did get her coming home outfit in the mail this week and set up our family pictures for June, small progress. I still feel like there is a ton more to do. Chad has been working the daybed that will be going in her room and hopefully will be finished this weekend! We picked out a paint color and just need to paint.
I had my doctor’s appointment last week and baby girl was showing off. Chad wasn’t able to make it to this appointment and too bad because our doctor was in a really good mood and did a high definition ultrasound and 4d ultrasound for free. She was smiling and laughing the whole time. She is moving a lot more now a days and loves to dig into my right side. My puffy vagina is back and in full force. The only thing I’ve really been craving is laffy taffy and it has to be the individual wrapped kind not the jumbo kind. My cravings have been a lot more sweet this time around compared to Grady they were salty and I could eat salt out of my hand.

20 weeks update

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

I am currently 23 weeks so we had our 20 week anatomy appointment a few weeks ago. It might just be me but that appointment always terrifies me. Everything is looking great and she is measuring 3 days behind my scheduled due date. She is head down and hopefully will stay that way, she is also sitting really low so my lower back/vagina are killing me but other than that no complaints. Cravings are still hit or miss but right now I’m craving captain crunch cereal, greek yogurt flips, and laffy taffy. We sold our guest bedroom bed so the baby’s room has turned into a dance party for the past few days. Grady still has no idea what is going on. He’ll say baby every now and then but when we say sissy he just looks at us like we are crazy

Mother's Day

Friday, May 12, 2017

Mother’s day is fast approaching. I can’t tell you how blessed and grateful I am to not only be a mommy to 1 amazing child but soon to be 2 amazing children. As I sit here thinking about what I want for Mother’s day, since Chad asks me nonstop for the past week I can’t help but think that Mother’s day is not only a celebration for all the mother’s out there but it is also a reminder for the women longing to be mothers as well. As a mother myself I feel guilty, I feel guilty for being able to conceive a child and carry a child to term. I feel guilty announcing our pregnancy when I only hope and pray that it is someone else announcing their pregnancy as well. I feel guilty posting anything on social media about my child knowing there are people that would kill to be in my shoes. I never want to come across as complaining when it comes to being a mother or being pregnant because I know how blessed I truly am. There are days and events that we get invited to but do not attend because I am pregnant and have a child and there will be people there that are going through infertility. I find myself hiding my pregnancy or wanting to post a pic of my child and decide not to. I do not know what it feels like to go through infertility or lose a baby but I do know what it feels like when the loved ones closest to you are going through it and I never want to come across as being insensitive to their situation. As the days get closer to Mother’s day I will not only think about all the deserving mothers out there, the single moms, working mom, stay at home moms, and grandmothers but I will also be praying for the other woman who long to be a mother as well.

Man 19 weeks as sure flown by. We still do not have much progress on the nursery but Chad did finish painting a dresser that we will be putting in her closet and just with a touch of pink it seems real. My to-do list keeps building with things I would like to get done before she gets here and it is all I seem to think about these days. Pregnancy brain is at an all-time high at the moment its more like pregnancy brain + mom brain = mush brain. I forgot my wallet at home the other day after going to the grocery store with Grady and of course didn’t realize until I was checking out. And I can’t even count how many times I have misplaced my keys including in the bathroom at work after I had walk all the way out to my car.

I still do not have many cravings but when I do get a craving that is of course something Grady LOVES (aka Cheetos) I literally have to hide in the pantry to eat my Cheetos so he doesn’t see me. Motherhood is a great form of diet I have figured out.

18 weeks

Monday, April 17, 2017

As of last week I was 18 weeks and let me tell you I still cannot believe I’m pregnant. I mean there’s no denying this beach ball but I think I’m still in shock that we are going to be having another little baby here before too long. This past week we traveled to Destin, FL for a much needed family vacation. I’ll do a post about our trip later but Grady absolutely loved it and sometimes it’s nice to just get away but now that we are back I am getting more and more anxious about getting everything together before baby girl arrives. I probably have 15 lists going on 15 different pieces of paper.

Baby girl was in a very bad position that was killing my tailbone and back, you know the pressure points that hit when you are walking down the hallway. Yea, not fun, any who she has thankfully moved into a move comfortable position. I’m still not craving anything which I didn’t really crave anything with Grady and I’m starting to think that cravings aren’t real. But hey I’ll still use the excuse.

I have been lacking in the motivation department lately. Probably due to the fact that I have not worked out in lord knows how long but man I have all these big ideas and none of them are coming together. I am 17 weeks along and with Grady we already had stuff put together and a plan for the nursery, with this one I have a plan in my head but nothing in the nursery is put together. And I'm fine with that but it is so not my character.

We had our appointment last week and double checked the empty sack I spoke about in my last update and thankfully it is gone and everything looks normal! I am starting to feel a lot better now that the sickness has passed although I think I went from 1st trimester symptoms to 3rd trimester symptoms, I am EXHAUSTED all the time. We are converting our "guest bedroom" into a nursery, our guest bedroom is more like a junk room so it is taking us a little longer to get it all cleared out and organized. We normally have our neighborhood garage sale in the summer so we are waiting until then to really get the nursery going. We are also planning on making a trip to Waco/Dallas over memorial weekend to get furniture for the nursery. It still feels unreal that we will be having 2 little ones in a few short months. Grady is at such a good age right now and I have to admit I'm not looking forward to the newborn stage again. I love the cuddles but the up all night, beginning of breastfeeding part is what I'm dreading. I hope that our little girl is a little bit of a better sleeper than what Grady was.

Update on baby girl

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

We are 15 weeks!!! And I am for sure showing, even though I was wearing maternity clothes already, my belly popped this past weekend and there is no denying that bump. I started a new group at the beginning of the year and I really haven’t told very many people in my group about me expecting. Every day I have someone/people stare at my belly, in a very obvious way. I mean these women are worse than men staring at your tits. It’ll be mid-sentence too where they will just look down and I just want to be “you have something to ask”??

We had our last appointment at 12 weeks where we found out the sex and I cannot wait to go back next week. My doctor scared me a little bit last appointment when he did an ultrasound. He said he saw another sac which was empty and it terrified me of course I’m thinking of all the possibilities like a twin that didn’t make it, something wrong with the baby, etc. My doctor didn’t seem too worried about it and I should either but of course for someone not being in the medical field I’m still a little skeptical and cannot wait to check things out next week. Thank goodness my doctor does an ultrasound at every appointment. As far as how I’m feeling, man it’s different. I was convinced that it was a boy due to the heartbeat and the nausea that I was feeling was just the fact that I was also taking care of a 15 month old. Nope, it was for sure because it was a girl. The sickness has subsided but I still have my days and STILL nothing sounds good to me. I really hope this doesn’t mean that baby girl is indecisive. I can only deal with 1 indecisive person in my life and that’s myself. As far as pregnancy pictures, we’re awful! I have skipped a lot of weeks already but we have managed to take a few…

Maternity Pics

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Although Grady is already here, I still wanted to share a few of our Maternity Pictures. I'm in love with our photographer she is so talented and sweet. Enjoy:

38 weeks

Thursday, December 3, 2015

How far along: 38 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 20 pounds
Best moment of the week: Spending time with family for Thanksgiving even though we were thinking we were going to be spending it in the hospital. At least our baby will never have a birthday on Thanksgiving now
Miss anything: Everything!!!
Movement: When he moves on the right spot I pee just a little bit which is annoying but it’s fun to play with him while I can
Cravings: As much as I would have loved to indulge in all things Thanksgiving dinner it’s hard to eat a huge meal without feeling nauseous
Queasy or sick: Feeling good, my back and pelvic bone is killing me but hey I can still walk

Looking forward to: Our next doctor’s appointment so we can discuss being induced!

37 weeks

Thursday, November 26, 2015

How far along: 37 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 20 pounds
Best moment of the week: Putting our Christmas up. We normally wait until Black Friday to put up our Christmas decorations but since we may or may not be in the hospital we decided to go ahead and put them up.
Miss anything: We went to a housewarming/wine party on Saturday and I am sure missing a bottle of wine. It was such a fun get together, they had a wine tasting set out and I made Chad try all of them so we know which ones to buy after baby gets here!
Movement: He’s still moving like crazy
Cravings: Nothing, I’m at a point where big meals are hard to do so I’m eating small portions every few hours
Queasy or sick: Feeling good, sometimes a little nauseous when I eat too much in one setting
Looking forward to: D-day, we’re getting so close! I can’t wait

36 weeks

Monday, November 16, 2015

How far along: 36 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 20 pounds
Best moment of the week: Getting a pedicure, it’s been a long time coming
Miss anything: My 6 month belly, it was so cute and small. Now when I go walking or stand up it never fails that there is someone that says “I bet your ready to have that baby, you look miserable” Thanks I guess…..
Movement: He moves like crazy when Chad has his hand on my belly. Of course he loves it
Cravings: Nothing, I feel stuffed all the time it’s hard to eat anything
Queasy or sick: Feeling good most days, still have a congested cough but overall feeling pretty good.
Looking forward to: D-day, I’m definitely growing a Chad inside of me. He is perfectly content and seems to not want to move down to my pelvic area. As for me, I’m ready to meet him and hug him and kiss him

Pregnancy brain was at a full time high this week. I went to go deliver something to someone’s desk and completely got off on the wrong floor and delivered the item to the wrong person/desk. Luckily the person wasn’t there when I dropped it off and when the correct person picked it up. Also, you know it’s bad when you’ll be telling a story to someone and then forget what the story was about half way through telling it to them.

35 weeks

Thursday, November 12, 2015

How far along: 35 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 18 pounds (down 2 pounds from last week)
Best moment of the week: Getting our maternity pictures done and also getting the group b strep test out of the way
Miss anything: I came down with a sinus infection this week so currently I’m missing being able to take Nyquil
Movement: He’s starting to slow down but still pretty active
Cravings: Nothing, feeling like a bloated whale and being sick. I really haven’t been in the mood to eat
Queasy or sick: Haven’t been feeling too good. Braxton hicks have been ramping up plus coming down with a sinus infection. I guess this is the reason why they tell you to not wait until the last month to get stuff done lol. My husband has been amazing though, he’s been taking care of the house when I have gone to bed extremely early as well as putting Vicks on my feet every morning and evening
Looking forward to: Getting our maternity pictures and D-day. We are getting so close which means I have mix emotions of being excited and terrified.

Besides being under the weather we were able to get a ton of stuff done this week! My amazing mom came over to help deep clean the house on Saturday and then we went shopping and got a lot of Christmas presents purchased. On a funny side note: I experienced the not so great things about pregnancy this week. While I was standing up at work I felt a sneeze coming on and totally snarted(sneezed and farted). Too embarrassed to turn around to see if anyone was looking I just pretended no one heard me.

34 weeks

Sunday, November 8, 2015

How far along: 34 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 20 pounds
Best moment of the week: Doctor’s appointment, baby is growing so fast. He’s at 6 lbs with 6 weeks left to go. I might be giving birth to a Guinness world record baby.
Miss anything: Wine, coffee and being able to breath
Movement: He was sure showing off at our doctor’s appointment moving all around. We were able to see his face again since he was facing my back the past 2 times.
Cravings: Nothing, I feel like a stuffed turkey 24-7
Queasy or sick: I have good days and bad days but majority of the time it’s good
Looking forward to: Our maternity pictures!! I can’t wait to see our photographer, she is amazing and I just adore her

33 Weeks

Saturday, October 31, 2015

How far along: 33 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 15 pounds
Best moment of the week: Getting to see my nephew and niece, we got a surprise visit from Chads brother’s family this past week since we were not expecting to see them until Christmas.
Miss anything: Sleeping on my back, queso blanco cheese dip, and a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte
Movement: He’s running out of room and so am I.
Cravings: I haven’t really been craving anything specifically but the whole eating healthy is out the window. I have officially hit the end of the road in caring about what I’m eating. Sounds horrible I know but if it’s between fruit and cookies, I’ll take the cookies and not regret it one bit
Queasy or sick: Starting to feel uncomfortable, beyond tired I can’t think straight, just ready
Looking forward to: Is it too early to say I’m looking forward to D-day

The “line” appeared this week. I really wasn’t too worried about this or dreading it until it appeared. It’s really fine and not too noticeable but of course I notice it and the most annoying part is that it’s not even straight. I mean come on now. The least you can do it make the line straight

32 weeks

Sunday, October 25, 2015

How far along: 32 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 15 pounds
Best moment of the week: Treating myself to a wax……since it’s a foreign country down there now and I’m not one to be able to grow it out.
Miss anything: Sangria, a full night sleep and a deli sandwich
Movement: He’s still pretty active and loves the wedge his feet into my right side
Cravings: Ice, Ice cream, salt, cheese, M & M’s
Queasy or sick: Feeling good
Looking forward to: D-day
