The Fourth of July is quickly becoming one of my favorite holidays. Kids
just make holidays so much more fun! Our weekend started a little early, after
work on Thursday we went to the splash pad for the first time and as much as
Grady loves the water he did not care 1 bit for the splash pad. The splash pad
we go to is in a park and he was more interested in going down the slides than
the water. Maybe we’ll try again! The next day after work we went to Kiddie
Park, which is an amusement park for kids in the town both Chad and I work in.
Grady had a blast me on the other hand was a nervous wreck the whole time. I
wasn’t able to get a very good picture of Grady on the carousel but the horse
he is riding was painted for our cousin that passed away a few months ago. We
might have to go back to get a better picture!
Chad is from a very small town and the fourth of July is their biggest
event of the year so on Saturday we went to the parade in the morning. Grady
was lucky enough to ride the fire truck with his grandma and grandpa and got to
throw candy out, this kid has one arm on him! After the parade we went back to
the house to cool off and for Grady to take a nap. We also ran some errands
before heading back to small town, USA for more events. We stopped by a family
friends house and had the best hushpuppies and fried fish I do believe I have
ever had. Then ventured to our friends house where they had a play yard,
bounce house, pool and trampoline Grady was in hog heaven. He was loving life a
little too much that he played so so hard it was difficult for him to sleep
that night.
Since we had a busy past few days we decided it was best to keep it low
key on Sunday and didn’t even leave the house, my kind of perfect day! We had
friends over Monday night and unfortunately the firework show that we were
going to watch was rescheduled due to weather but we had the best time
surrounded by friends. I love having people over and just hanging out at the
house! Grady also got one of his big brother presents on Monday and the below
picture is probably my favorite of all time.
