We are in full birthday party mode! The invitations are out, items are
orders, and momma is trying to hold back the tears. Where has this year gone!
This past month we enrolled Grady in swim lessons and to my surprise he hated
it!! He loves bathtime and I thought he would love swimming but nope he’s
scared to death if he can’t touch or if water gets in his face. The first night
was a total nightmare and then I learned by the second night to stocked up
on some suckers and bribe him! After that he learned that if he does a good
job he’ll get a sucker. So now I carry suckers around with me everywhere we go!
Development:
I know probably every parent says their kid is smart but seriously we
have a genius on our hands lol. Grady is putting more words together and is
starting to say sentences. My sister got him some flash cards with shapes and
colors on them and we have been practicing our colors. He is so good and
sometimes will resight the colors and sometimes gets distracted by something
else.
We’ve been really bad about reading to him at night but he used to LOVE
this animal book and we would have to read it to him every night. Well the
other night when we were chilling in his room he grabbed the book and starting pointing
out the animals and saying what they were.
Play:
Grady does really well with playing by himself sometimes it makes me
sad but Chad reassures me that it’s a good thing and its part of him developing
into a smart little boy. He is still obsessed with cars and being outside. My
parents let him play in their car and now I can’t get him out!! We have to
adjust the settings every time we need to go anywhere. People have asked me what
to get him for his birthday and I just say seriously nothing this boy loves to
be outside! But maybe some suckers, for bribery.
We also celebrated Grady’s 2nd Halloween. I love Halloween and
really get into little kids costumes. This year we decided to dress Grady up
as a Golfer. He’s been into golf ever since we took him put putting in the
summer. He was the cutest little golfer, the little golf ball was pretty darn
cute as well if I say so myself.
