Audrey - 12 months

Our baby girl is 1 and I am in complete denial. Our baby girl will light up your day with her enormous smile. She is an aggressive lover and everyone that meets her gets so attached, which I do not blame them one bit she is the sweetest.

Sleep:

Audrey knows how to sleep through the night, yes I said knows and not does! She sleeps through the night most nights but when she does not feel good she likes to be held and rocked. She goes to bed around 7:30 and will wake up anywhere from 5:30-6:30 sometimes if she wakes up early we can get her to fall back to sleep but sometimes she is just ready to start the day. She is still on 2 naps a day, one at 9am and one at 1pm and I do not see us going to 1 nap anytime soon. She will normally give us one 45 minute nap and one hour and a half nap. She will nap for 45 minutes at 9am one day and then an hour and a half at 9am the other day you just never know.

Eat:

Audrey is an amazing eater. She will eat more than her brother some days. She eats mostly everything that we have for dinner unless we are having hard meats like steak or pork or if we are having anything spicy. She LOVES fruit especially blueberries. Blueberries were on sale at the store so I purchased 2 containers and she was eating handfuls at a time. When she went to go poop it was alarming, it looked like newborn tar like poop. I made the mistake of googling it, luckily the comment right after reading that it could be from digested blood was that it could be caused from blueberries. We cut blueberries out of her diet for 24 hours just to make sure and sure enough it went back to normal. I’ve never examined poop so much until I became a mom. Grady got constipated right around 6 months of age, so we never really noticed the different colors/variations of poop like Audrey.

Audrey loves saucy foods including goulash, spaghetti, mac and cheese. We also give her a veggie which is normally green beans or peas. She used to love carrots when they were pureed but not so much now. She absolutely LOVES fruit, she loves watermelon, blueberries and strawberries. When she is cutting teeth that is the only time she does not like to eat and will only eat fruit for dinner I’ll also try yogurt or cottage cheese to get some protein in her.

Development:

She is the definition of hangry if she is not eating by 6:30pm, boy you better get her a snack cause when she is hungry she will let you know about it. She is still not walking and has no desire to. She is bull headed and when we try to get her to walk she just sticks her feet up in the air and lets us know who is really in control. She can say momma, mommy, dada, daddy, bubba and she has said words randomly like water, eat, etc. I know it’s not long until she starts talking all the time and walking everywhere.

She is our little tornado. I have not had to baby proof anything before but with her, it may be a different story. She is also hilarious and keeps us laughing all day long. She does not like it when she is alone and has to be next to you all the time. When you leave the room and she notices she loses her mind. She is the sweetest though she loves people and being around others. She will be screaming in her car seat and as soon as we open the door she sees other people she will have the biggest smile on her face. She loves to be mobile but also loves to be held. She is always on the go and determined to do whatever she wants to do.
