We sold our house on June 29th with a closing date of August
1st. With no plans we were rushing to find a temporary place to live
until we decided long term what we were going to do. Since 4th of
July was the following week from when we got the contract it was hard to get a
hold of people regarding rent houses and I was starting to get worried. But finally,
we found a place to live for a few months the following week.
Before we sold our house, Chad and I search for pieces of property to
eventually build on. We found a place that we thought was perfect. The realtor
was out of the country so in the meantime I was calling the builder and making
plans. Unfortunately, this did not work out. I was extremely upset about it but
we knew that there was a plan in place for us and God knew what he was doing.
Since 4th of July fell in the middle of the week we decided
to cross another item off of our summer bucket list and head to Caney, KS to
the safari there. It was a blast and the kids had so much fun. Towards the end
of the tour the kids were getting antsy so we cut it a little short and headed
back home in which both of them fell asleep in record time.
After we got home finished our naps and cooled off for a bit we played
outside some more. I purchased some water beads off of Amazon and they were a
huge hit. It entertained Grady for the longest time and also in the days
following.
For Chad and I’s wedding anniversary I surprised him with a trip to
Boston for his birthday. He has always wanted to go and go to a Red Sox game so
I decided to go ahead and just do it. Life is too short right?? Well little do
I know exactly how much we needed this little get away. With everything that
was going on in our lives it was so nice to regroup as a couple and probably
one of my all-time favorite trips.
We really started to pack up the house with trying to maintain as much of a normal life as possible. We also hosting a last dinner at our house and it was bitter sweet. I ordered a cake from our favorite bakery in Tulsa. They were closing their store and it was going to be the last time I tasted the best Red Velvet cake and vanilla buttercream. I already miss them so much. We closed on a Wednesday and we couldn’t get into the rental house until the following weekend so we camped out at my parents house for a week, needless to say that my babies loved it.
