Parade of Homes 2018 - Part 2

Wednesday, August 29, 2018

As promised here is the Parade of Homes Part 2

This little girls’ bedroom was gorgeous

I love the colors on the outside of this house

This builder does an amazing job, they are a farmhouse/Chip and Jo style and they nail it every year. So much inspiration.

This next house was breathtaking. The views were amazing and the home was just stunning. I love this idea of a deep freezer or fridge in the pantry.

The next few houses are from the Jenks, Ok area and I love how light and bright they are. Also, can you still I am in love with freestanding bathtubs.

That was a lot but we absolutely love going to this plus its free so it's an added bonus. This year they blew it out of the park. I can't wait to see what next year is going to bring.

This is a brilliant idea

Die for double doors

And I love the concrete looking countertops

Mexican Vacation - 2018

Thursday, August 23, 2018

This post is long overdue and now it makes me want to go back to Mexico as I’m writing it. The last time we were in Mexico was in 2015 and with me being pregnant or breastfeeding and with the Zika threat we haven’t been back until this past May. We called up our friends who live in Fort Worth and who we travel with to set everything up. We decided to try out Cozumel this time around. Everyone wanted to go earlier in the year but I knew that I wouldn’t be ready emotionally and convinced everyone to wait until May.

We stayed at the Secrets Aura in Cozumel. It was the only Adults only resort on the island so we went with it. We arrived in the mid afternoon and the staff was super helpful and friendly. They upgraded our room and when we got to our room I let out a little scream, it was gorgeous. We had a swim up pool and immediately jumped in (after pumping that is). The pool was about ankle deep and then there was a drop off. My husband did not tell me about the drop off and as I was walking and talking I completely fell right in. Everyone got a huge kick out of it, even the people walking by. Our friends’ room was a few rooms down and we could swim up to their room as well.

The resort was attached to another resort which was a family friendly resort and we were able to go eat their restaurants. This was a down side to the resort. There wasn’t a lot of fabulous restaurants on the resort. The best restaurant was a French restaurant, we always check the dress attire before we go so we know what to pack and we didn’t realize that you could where shorts outside but not inside. Well, the guys only brought shorts so we had to sit outside which was fine but that was the night where we got attacked by mosquitoes. I’m not sure if it was the time of year that we went or the island but there were a ton of mosquitoes.

Overall, we had a blast and got to kayak on the ocean and let loose with some good friends however, I don’t think I will be going back to this resort in particular. The staff was amazing but the atmosphere and environment could use some improvements.
