Jessica shared with me some wallpaper that she loved a while ago and that was the inspiration for their shower. Off to Pinterest I went in search for floral baby shower inspiration. Pinterest gets me every time and I tend to over way over board with what I want to do and have to talk myself WAY down. I cohosted the shower with Jessica’s mom and since I’m not the best at communicating every detail I told her to take care of the cake and I’m sure glad she did but man was it beautiful she also went over and beyond with a full dessert table display.
A sign led people inside to the baby shower which was drawn by my uber talented cousin. She does all of my signs and I swear she needs to start an etsy shop! As people walked in they were greeted with a photo prop. I have been dying to buy the instafilm camera and this was the perfect excuse. I laid out a book with some wasabi tape so people could take a picture and then write a message to either the mommy and daddy to be or their precious little miracle.
Each table had a center piece with either a spray-painted mason jar with baby’s breath and a stuffed animal or a glass vase with spray painted twigs and fake flower which I glued onto the twigs and a stuffed animal. All the animals were ones that Grady had, when I had my baby shower every one got him a stuff animal so I had plenty for the shower. I completely miss judged how much baby’s breath I needed and got way too much. Each place setting had a plate with a napkin purchased from Oriental trading and a personalized cookie. My next door neighbor is another uber talented individual and I went to her with my vision and she nailed it to a tee. The cookies were everyone’s favors from the shower.
The front of the baby shower I had a tee-pee that my husband made. I wanted it to be a lace fabric and search the internet high and low for the perfect lace. Only to purchase a table cloth on Amazon originally that did not work. It kept falling apart so good thing for prime where I ordered another one and it was delivered just in time. Thank goodness I kept the other table cloth cause I purchased table skirts from oriental trading thinking they were complete table cover but ended up only being the skirt.
The cake table which was the centerpiece for the event was my absolute favorite. I originally was going to have my husband build a wood wall but I found a wood backdrop on Amazon and then had my husband build a frame. So much easier! I got Mila custom made and ordered flower templates to make the flowers. Surprisingly they were a lot easier than I that. Did I tell you that the cake was GORGEOUS!! We could have just decorated with the cake alone.
This couple have endured a lot to become parents. They are the sweetest most caring people and every second and penny was well worth everything.
