Audrey - 10 months

Thursday, June 28, 2018

And we finally have a tooth!!! I read somewhere that the longer babies go without getting teeth the harder teething is on them and I would surely agree with that one. It’s been so sad watching our sweet happy baby hurting and be in so much pain.

Sleep:

With Audrey teething she has also been really snotty and can hardly breathe at night so we have taken a back seat to the whole sleeping through the night. I have even slept with her most nights. I just feel so bad and she sleeps on a better incline when I’m holding her. But that doesn’t mean we’re not tired. I’m exhausted and just want her to start to feel better soon. But now that we are done breastfeeding I am drinking a lot more coffee.

Eat:

We are officially done breastfeeding and I’m hoping that my freezer milk will last us to a year. I went a little longer than expected but I just could not give it up. We started the month only feeding her twice once in the morning and once in the evening and then we went to just the morning and by the end of the month we were exclusively on bottles but if I felt full and she was fussy I would cave every now and then. She is also off of baby food and eating table food. She loves green beans, strawberries, blueberries, meatballs, hummus, almost everything. She takes 5 bottles during the day and eat 3 meals with about 2 snacks. Her favorite snacks include graham crackers and little teething biscuits. We also try really hard to include a fruit, veggie, and protein for every meal.

Development:

Audrey has excelled this month in her development. She can say mama, dada, and bubba (which is my favorite and just melts me). She is officially crawling with her stomach off the floor. I absolutely adore her crawl, she does the bear crawl. This girl is going to have killer legs. She can also stand against furniture and move about. She can eat with her fingers and move food and objects from one hand to another.

She is the biggest mommas girl and I just eat it up. She will be crying and as soon as I hold her she just stops. I hope we will always be best friends, I just LOVE her so so much.

May Recap

Thursday, June 21, 2018

Boy was May a fun month but also a busy one. We are entering a busy time in our lives, are plates are overflowing but we are also trying to stay grounded and focused.

As I mentioned we are putting our house on the market so we spent the better half of May getting our house ready. Our house officially went on the market in the middle of May and we have been staying busy keeping it clean. It never fails though that we have a showing of the day we leave a few dishes out, etc. We also had 2 open houses back to back Sunday’s so that was a lot of fun (NOT)

Cinco de Mayo is probably one of my favorite holidays lol. We have had people over the best few years and I believe it will be an ongoing tradition. I made one of my fav meals (the burrito bowls I mentioned in the weekly meal plan last week). As well as some flautas, and churros. It was probably one of the best dinners we have had in a while which amazing food and great company.

May was extremely hot but we got in all the outdoor play time we could normally in the early morning hours before it got too outside. We also got our pool out for the first time and sister LOVES it! While we were playing in the pool one day Grady needed to go potty and since I was a little lazy and didn’t want to track water in the house I told him to go outside in the grass. For about a week that is the only place he would go. He would say “pee grass” and then when we were outside he would just strip down. It must be a boy thing to love being naked. And as far as our neighbors, pretty sure they are glad we are moving. Lol

There is a neighbor in our neighborhood that owns horses and during a walk one day we went to go see them. We went back later that evening and the sweet owner let us feed the horses with a treat. Grady was in heaven.

We got to dedicate Audrey on Mother’s Day and you can read about that here. Also I started to wean Audrey from breastfeeding. My goal was May 1st and to be done before we left on Vacation but like I mentioned before I just couldn’t give it up so I was pumping while in Mexico which wasn’t too bad if I say so myself. We are so fortunate to go on vacations and to have grandparents who are more than willing to watch our babies while we are gone.

Grady got to swim in a big pool for the first time this season. I have had major anxiety about pool and water that this was a HUGE baby step for me.

We ended the month with Memorial day weekend which was pretty low key and exactly what we needed. We are so ready to move on and to get our house sold. We love and adore our house but it is time to share it with another family.

Audrey's Dedication

Friday, June 15, 2018

Our church does child dedications twice a year. Once on Mother’s day and the other one in December so when it came time to discuss Audrey’s dedication we were a little skeptical about doing it on Mother’s day but the Christmas time was just too chaotic to try and manage. We had Grady’s dedication on Mother’s day and it was a disaster. My Mother in Law passed out in the Lobby of our church as we were walking in and had to be rushed to the hospital. I didn’t want any bad gugu but Mother’s day was the best timing for us so we held our breaths that nothing would go wrong and went for it.

It turned out to be a beautiful day celebrating our baby girl. We go to the earlier service time available which is 8:30 in the morning so we had our family meet us at our church. They did the child dedications first thing and then we stayed for the church service. After church we invited our family over for a brunch at our house. We served mini quiches, grape salad, pioneer woman cinnamon buns and sticky buns, breakfast casserole and a coffee cake. And then of course Audrey took the longest nap she’s probably ever taken so we didn’t get very many pictures with her and her grandmas but like they say NEVER wake a sleeping baby.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, Plans to prosper  you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11

Summer Bucket List

Thursday, June 14, 2018

Summer is well underway which means later bedtimes, load of fun in the sun, early morning outside time, tons of sunscreens, hundreds of gallons of water and all the fun marking items off our summer bucket list.

Last year I did a “big brother list” which worked out perfectly since it fell over the summer. I made a list of all the things I wanted to do with Grady before he became a big brother. It was so much fun and we looked forward to every activity. This year we are doing something similar but it’s going to be all about Summer. Here are some of our ideas

//Go to a Zoo//

There is a zoo located in Caney, Kansas that I have been dying to go to. It’s smaller and you can get a package for your little ones to feed the animals

//Visit the Aquarium//

This is a great activity for the blazing hot summer days so we will save this one for later this summer

//Farmers Market//

Chad and I have only gone to a farmer’s market once but they have a really good farmers market on Cherry Street in Tulsa that we would like to attend

//Children’s Museum in Tulsa//

Another great activity for the blazing hot summer day

//Kiddie Park//

We went last year and Grady had a blast! It’s a little difficult on bedtimes since they don’t open until 7 and Audrey goes to bed at 7:45 but we will for sure be making an exception

//Sno Cones//

Don’t know how Grady is going to like a Sno Cones but you better believe that I’ll be videoing his first one!

//Splash Pad//

Grady loves the water but HATES water in his face, last year we tried the splash pad and he wasn’t a big fan so we will be trying a different one this eyar

//Gathering place//

They have an event in Owasso the first Thursday of every month in the summer with is super fun for the kiddos especially

//Food Trucks//

Well because YAY!!

//Baseball game//

I really wanted to take Grady to his first baseball game last year but the night we were going to go Audrey decided to make her appearance

//Miniature golf//

We had a blast last year trying miniature golf out for the first time that I can’t wait to go back

//Sell our House!//

Of course the highest priority of all is to Sell our House!!

This summer is going to be a blast and I cannot wait for cool summer mornings and warm evenings followed with naked babies and sticky fingers

Mila's baby shower

Thursday, June 7, 2018

I’m pretty sure I begged one of my best friends enough to do a baby shower for her that she finally agreed! Everyone knows how much I love putting a party together and this one was extra special to everyone. Our dear friends tried for a very long time to have a baby and after many many prayers they are expecting their first little miracle a baby girl! The day of their baby shower meant so much to me and I wanted it to be the most special day.

Jessica shared with me some wallpaper that she loved a while ago and that was the inspiration for their shower. Off to Pinterest I went in search for floral baby shower inspiration. Pinterest gets me every time and I tend to over way over board with what I want to do and have to talk myself WAY down. I cohosted the shower with Jessica’s mom and since I’m not the best at communicating every detail I told her to take care of the cake and I’m sure glad she did but man was it beautiful she also went over and beyond with a full dessert table display.

 This day was absolutely perfect if I say so myself everything flowed perfectly!

 A sign led people inside to the baby shower which was drawn by my uber talented cousin. She does all of my signs and I swear she needs to start an etsy shop! As people walked in they were greeted with a photo prop. I have been dying to buy the instafilm camera and this was the perfect excuse. I laid out a book with some wasabi tape so people could take a picture and then write a message to either the mommy and daddy to be or their precious little miracle.

 Each table had a center piece with either a spray-painted mason jar with baby’s breath and a stuffed animal or a glass vase with spray painted twigs and fake flower which I glued onto the twigs and a stuffed animal. All the animals were ones that Grady had, when I had my baby shower every one got him a stuff animal so I had plenty for the shower. I completely miss judged how much baby’s breath I needed and got way too much. Each place setting had a plate with a napkin purchased from Oriental trading and a personalized cookie. My next door neighbor is another uber talented individual and I went to her with my vision and she nailed it to a tee. The cookies were everyone’s favors from the shower.

 The front of the baby shower I had a tee-pee that my husband made. I wanted it to be a lace fabric and search the internet high and low for the perfect lace. Only to purchase a table cloth on Amazon originally that did not work. It kept falling apart so good thing for prime where I ordered another one and it was delivered just in time. Thank goodness I kept the other table cloth cause I purchased table skirts from oriental trading thinking they were complete table cover but ended up only being the skirt.

The cake table which was the centerpiece for the event was my absolute favorite. I originally was going to have my husband build a wood wall but I found a wood backdrop on Amazon and then had my husband build a frame. So much easier! I got Mila custom made and ordered flower templates to make the flowers. Surprisingly they were a lot easier than I that. Did I tell you that the cake was GORGEOUS!! We could have just decorated with the cake alone.

 This couple have endured a lot to become parents. They are the sweetest most caring people and every second and penny was well worth everything.

Audrey - 9 months

Friday, June 1, 2018

Sleep:

I really struggled this month with putting Audrey down while she was still awake. 1 night I was rocking her and she was not having it and said “mama” so clearly and I just melted and ended up rocking her for another 15 minutes while shedding a few tears. It’s so hard watching your kiddos grow up right in front of you. I just want to freeze time and appreciate these moments while they are happening. She has started to consistently sleep through the night and I am getting spoiled.

Eat:

Dang does this girl like food about as much as I love her. We started weaning off the breast this month and I cried! I told myself that I would start to wean her and pump starting May 1st but I just couldn’t do it so I was pumping a lot when Chad and I went to Mexico. It’s funny, I never really enjoyed breastfeeding until it was almost over and then I just couldn’t stop not because of her but because of me. She is eating 3 meals a day with 2 snacks. We ended the month with 1 breastfeeding session in the morning and 4-6oz bottles during the day. She’s a pretty good eater, we haven’t started meats yet since she still doesn’t have any teeth but I’m pretty sure we are a little behind in that department. Her favorite snack is the teething wafers which I found at Walmart on Clearance right before we left on vacation.

Development:

Audrey is all over the place and sitting all by herself. She has stood up next to a piece of furniture a few times which we need to adjust her bed now! She is starting to talk (babble) more, Grady calls her baby girl and I’m pretty sure she thinks that’s her name instead of Audrey. She’s been pretty clingy which makes me think she is cutting some teeth but still none. She normally won’t let me put her down unless he has a snack. She is also starting to cry if someone else holds her which I secretly enjoy and love that she is a momma’s girl.
