Audrey - 2 months

Monday, October 23, 2017

Where has the time gone! This month has flown by and some days I feel like we wake up and then its bedtime an hour later. Audrey is growing like a weed and has changed so much. We had a rough month getting over being sick but we still eat pretty well.

Sleep: Audrey is overall a pretty good sleeper and loves her sleep. We have been trying to figure out the best bedtime for her, we have tried 8:30 and 8 but she is so tired that she won’t eat and just wants to go to sleep. However she’ll be so overly tired that it will take her a while to fall to sleep but then she’ll be good the rest of the night. She normally wakes up once but some nights it’ll be every 2-3 hours. She’ll still young so I’m not stressing about her sleeping through the night just yet. She does need her pacifier to help go to sleep (which the only one she will take is the tomee tippee ones).

Eat: She still latches really well however when she is tired she will not eat. During the day she’ll eat anywhere from 2-3 hours and then go longer stretches at night. We have tried a bottle and she’s not the biggest fan but will take 3 ounces very slowly. I’ve been pumping like crazy to keep up my supply and to get a good stock for when I go back to work.

Development: There hasn’t been much change since 1 month. She is smiling more often normally more in the morning. We’ve also experienced a witching period in the evenings which hasn’t been too pleasant. She also hates tummy time on the floor but will do tummy time on your chest and lift her head really well. She’s also started to push off.

I go back to work in a few weeks and I am dreading the day where I have to leave her. I have yet to leave her and have anxiety just thinking about it. Luckily we have an amazing babysitter that I know will take extremely good care of her.

Grady - 22 months

Monday, October 9, 2017

Grady’s vocabulary has skyrocketed this past month, every day he says a new word(s). It is so much fun watching him learn and interact with others. He continues to surprise us with his entertainment everyday.

Development:

Grady is one bossy little boy. He will tell you to sit down when he wants you to sit or stand when he wants you to stand. We are working on patience and not getting so upset when he doesn’t get his way which has been fun to say the least. When we have guests over we tell him to say good bye he is like his momma and doesn’t linger around he says bye and then will say door and point to the front door for them to leave. Oh how I love him!

He has an amazing vocabulary and we can understand most of what he says very clearly. However, when he says lotion it’s more like, ‘oh shit’… He also started saying “Was up”. He’s putting more words together and it is seriously the cutest thing. We also have to really watch what we say in front of him because he is repeating a lot more these days too.

Play:

He is currently obsessed with cars and trucks and we have reached the stage of having to take a few trucks along with us in the car when we go paces. We still love the outdoors and seriously could stay out there all day if I would let him.

Food:

I have been blessed to have a child that is somewhat not picky. He eats his fruit and veggies really well but if he has too much of one thing continuously he gets pretty burnt out on it. His favorite meal is goulash and his favorite snack is the chewy granola bars. He’s never been a juice man and will not drink tea or pop. He is a water guy all the way but we have to put miralax in his water everyday to keep him regulated.
