2 weekends ago our AC went out luckily its not to hot but for a
pregnant tired lady it was about 120 degrees. It went out on Saturday late
afternoon and my poor husband didn’t know that there were 24 hour people to
come and fix it so we spent Saturday night sweating. On Sunday, I finally
called someone to come out to house against my husband’s wishes (he could have
waited until Monday when it wouldn’t have been expensive, but at that point I
didn’t care how much money it was going to cost). Of course they were a little
backed up so when we got home from Church my husband spent most of the time in
the Garage, to get away from the VERY cranky pregnant lady. And while he was in
the garage he made the most adorable cardboard house for Grady. Happy to note
our air is back up and I’m back to being myself, sort of. But we have both
agreed that the month of May is not our month financially, if you remember 2 years ago in May Karl had surgery and I got in a car accident and then last year in May on Mother's day my Mother in Law passed out in the lobby of our church and then several other times causing her to have a pacemaker put in. Thank goodness for
Emergency funds around this time of year.
Weekend Recap
Saturday, May 20, 2017
This past weekend was a busy one. I took off on Thursday and Grady and I
spent the whole day together. If anyone has fun activities for an 18 -24 month
old send them my way! We have a gas fireplace which has rocks and Grady is at
the age to where he can reach those so we had to invest in a fireplace cover.
And let me tell you he is one determined little stinker. We also painted a sun
with our hands, which did not turn out like Pinterest. And built a fort in baby’s
room with the mattress. It was a reminder of how important Mommy/Son time is.
One of Grady’s favorite things to do (his 1st chore) is to
get Karl his food. I mean seriously how cute is this?
By the end of the day this momma was tired so I put him in his toy box
and he was content for a solid 20 minutes, winning!
Saturday we dragged the pool out for Grady to play in. Chad curses me every
time I ask him to blow this thing up that we ended up just getting one of those
8 dollar pools from Walmart on Sunday and then told me that we were going to sell
this one in the garage sale. But look at how fun it is….
Sunday was of course Mother’s day, last year Grady was dedicated and my
MIL almost died on us so this year was definitely better. Also, I do believe
Father’s day is in June, CHAD, only napping for mommy’s on Mother’s day! Can I just say I’m 1 lucky Momma.
Nursery Inspiration
Wednesday, May 17, 2017
Now that we have sold our guest bedroom bed and we'll be going to Dallas next weekend to get furniture and then our garage sale the following it's time to get serious about the nursery! I love the soft floral look so I'm leaning towards light pink, white, and gold. Grady's crib is gray and I'm not buying a new one although I love the white cribs so there will be gray in there as well. Below is few inspirational pictures for what we are shooting for. And dying over the shiplap walls just need to convince Chad!!
20 weeks update
Tuesday, May 16, 2017
I am currently 23 weeks so we had our 20 week anatomy appointment a few
weeks ago. It might just be me but that appointment always terrifies me.
Everything is looking great and she is measuring 3 days behind my scheduled due
date. She is head down and hopefully will stay that way, she is also sitting really low so my lower back/vagina are killing me but other than that no complaints. Cravings are still hit or miss but right now I’m craving captain crunch cereal,
greek yogurt flips, and laffy taffy. We sold our guest bedroom bed so the baby’s
room has turned into a dance party for the past few days. Grady still has no
idea what is going on. He’ll say baby every now and then but when we say sissy
he just looks at us like we are crazy

Mother's Day
Friday, May 12, 2017
Mother’s day is fast approaching. I can’t tell you how blessed and
grateful I am to not only be a mommy to 1 amazing child but soon to be 2
amazing children. As I sit here thinking about what I want for Mother’s day,
since Chad asks me nonstop for the past week I can’t help but think that Mother’s
day is not only a celebration for all the mother’s out there but it is also a
reminder for the women longing to be mothers as well. As a mother myself I feel
guilty, I feel guilty for being able to conceive a child and carry a child to
term. I feel guilty announcing our pregnancy when I only hope and pray that it
is someone else announcing their pregnancy as well. I feel guilty posting anything
on social media about my child knowing there are people that would kill to be
in my shoes. I never want to come across as complaining when it comes to being
a mother or being pregnant because I know how blessed I truly am. There are
days and events that we get invited to but do not attend because I am pregnant
and have a child and there will be people there that are going through infertility.
I find myself hiding my pregnancy or wanting to post a pic of my child and
decide not to. I do not know what it feels like to go through infertility or
lose a baby but I do know what it feels like when the loved ones closest to you
are going through it and I never want to come across as being insensitive to
their situation. As the days get closer to Mother’s day I will not only think
about all the deserving mothers out there, the single moms, working mom, stay
at home moms, and grandmothers but I will also be praying for the other woman
who long to be a mother as well.

Weekend's recap
Thursday, May 4, 2017
I haven’t done a weekend recap in a while so to catch you up from the
last few weekends we have basically done nothing lol.
Easter was the day after we got home from Florida so unfortunately we
didn’t get to participate in any Easter egg hunts for Grady so after church
that Sunday I ran to Walmart and got some Easter eggs to hide around the house.
He’s still a little too young to understand the concept, it was more pick a few
up and then drop his basket. Later that afternoon we went over to Chad’s
parents to have lunch and then were planning on going to the zoo but it was
supposed to rain later on so we went to a park instead. Our niece and nephew
are still in town and I just love hanging out with them.
The following week into the weekend was a little rough as Grady was
getting his molars. We made it to the 1st birthday party of Grady’s
BFF. We are fortunate enough to have our Daycare workers son only 4 months
younger can Grady, and I cannot wait to see their relationship grow throughout
the years. While we were doing our grocery trip I stumbled upon some outside
tools for kiddos. They had a broom, shovel, hoe, and gardening tools. We just
picked out the broom but it really made me want to plant a garden with Grady in
the years to come.
This past weekend it rained and rained and rained on Saturday so we
were stuck inside all day. It was honestly the best thing for our little family.
So thankful for lazy days. I got a few bows in for our little girl and decided
the Grady needed to be a model. I think she’s going to be cute guys!! On Sunday
we stopped by a birthday party and Grady found himself a vacuum. He is
seriously going to make someone very happy one of these days. Loves to cook, vacuum,
sort the laundry. I really need to find him his own vacuum.
