33 Weeks

Saturday, October 31, 2015

How far along: 33 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 15 pounds
Best moment of the week: Getting to see my nephew and niece, we got a surprise visit from Chads brother’s family this past week since we were not expecting to see them until Christmas.
Miss anything: Sleeping on my back, queso blanco cheese dip, and a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte
Movement: He’s running out of room and so am I.
Cravings: I haven’t really been craving anything specifically but the whole eating healthy is out the window. I have officially hit the end of the road in caring about what I’m eating. Sounds horrible I know but if it’s between fruit and cookies, I’ll take the cookies and not regret it one bit
Queasy or sick: Starting to feel uncomfortable, beyond tired I can’t think straight, just ready
Looking forward to: Is it too early to say I’m looking forward to D-day

The “line” appeared this week. I really wasn’t too worried about this or dreading it until it appeared. It’s really fine and not too noticeable but of course I notice it and the most annoying part is that it’s not even straight. I mean come on now. The least you can do it make the line straight

Diaper Bash/Baby Shower

Friday, October 30, 2015

We are incredibly grateful to everyone that helped out for the diaper bash and baby shower. Originally, our plans were to have the diaper party the same time and place as the baby shower but since we were not able to do that our good friends came to the rescue!

Chad had an amazing time hanging with his guy friends for his last hurrah before our baby gets here, plus we had a huge success. Operation stock up!

My mom, sister, and mother-in-law did an amazing job with the baby shower and were able to incorporate our woodland theme perfectly.

(I'm a sucker for elbow patches)

(Isn't this the cutest sign you have ever seen)

Miss anything: Sangria, a full night sleep and a deli sandwich
Movement: He’s still pretty active and loves the wedge his feet into my right side
Cravings: Ice, Ice cream, salt, cheese, M & M’s
Queasy or sick: Feeling good

Traveling with Fairmont Hospitality in Mind

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Chad and I love to travel, but honestly who doesn’t? We’ve traveled to Mexico, Dominican Republic, and the West Coast (Utah and California) together; with Mexico being our favorite destination so far. So when the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts wanted to explore new ideas on hospitality, I began to compare the hotels we have visited in the United States to the resorts we’ve stayed at internationally. The one thing that was always a constant in my mind when thinking hospitality was the atmosphere of the resorts, everyone and everything is so inviting and welcoming.

My favorite thing is the night life when the resorts come alive. There is normally something different every night at the resorts we have stayed at, but my absolute favorites are the social hours where they pass around specialty beverages and appetizers. Something I thought that the San Diego - Fairmont could incorporate is having a social hour with Mojito’s as their specialty drink, or a drink that makes you think California dreamin’. Alternatively, their Scottsdale resort could incorporate a spicy drink, maybe something that included cactus juice. Each night of the week could have a different theme. With a different creative palate for each hotel, the options are endless. This is one way the customers could mingle with the staff or just enjoy themselves over a bonfire overlooking the resorts stunning sceneries.  Of course, since the Fairmont is kid-friendly, they could whip up a specialty drink to include the kiddos as well.

Speaking of the kiddos, this is their vacation too now isn’t it? Instead of having the kids stuck inside all day, while their parents are enjoying themselves, the Kid’s club at the resort could incorporate fun activities for the kids each day. For example, Monday could be “Art” day, Tuesday “Swim” day, etc.

One other key item that the hotel could incorporate to feel more inviting is by having a pool service: someone to find them seats, get guests towels, take their order, etc. Along with providing sunscreen to their guests as well.
Also, wouldn’t it be ideal if all hotels included a universal cell phone charger in each room or at least to rent from the front desk? This is always one item that tends to be forgotten while I’m packing. We either have to turn around to go back and retrieve it or it’s forgotten all together, which means finding a store to purchase one.

How far along: 31 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 15 pounds
Best moment of the week: The baby shower, it was a huge success and our doctor’s appointment. I passed my Gestational diabetes test!!!
Miss anything: Being able to hold my bladder. I can’t seem to stand without the urge to use the restroom or the feeling that I’m going to pee my pants during yoga class.
Movement: He loves my right side and I’m pretty sure he dropped hence the never ending bathroom trips.
Cravings: Bread with butter, planning out meals is getting a little more difficult. I haven’t had any food aversions but the taste and sound of left overs make me sick, which is completely not normal for me
Queasy or sick: feeling ok
Looking forward to: Is it too early to say I’m looking forward to D-day

How far along: 30 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 12 pounds
Best moment of the week: Chad’s Diaper party, We are stocked up on diapers!
Miss anything: Walking normally and keeping up with everyone, being able to get up from the car/couch without a little 1…2…3…and go. Any normal activity in general.
Movement: He likes to nudge his feet into my side
Cravings: Burnt pop tarts, captain crunch cereal, and cinnamon toast. Needless to say we have had breakfast for dinner a few nights this past week.
Queasy or sick: Starting to feel really uncomfortable but can’t complain too much.
Looking forward to: The baby shower and organizing all of his clothes and items.

29 weeks

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

How far along: 29 weeks
Gender: Boy
Weight gained: 12 pounds
Best moment of the week: My doctor’s appointment. Baby boy is measuring a week ahead of schedule but my doctor won’t change his due date. He’s also head down ready to go.
Miss anything: (Might be TMI, I apologize in advance) normal looking vagina. Suddenly my pubic area became extremely swollen –puffy according to Chad.
Movement: Now that I know where he’s positioned, I can somewhat guess what he’s doing. He likes to shake his butt hehe or maybe it’s just him trying to get comfortable
Cravings: Can’t get enough water!
Queasy or sick: Getting to be uncomfortable but can’t complain too much
Looking forward to: Chad’s diaper bash and the baby shower the following weekend

My mother-in-law went with me to my last doctor’s appointment. I asked him to look at my swollen pubic area, thinking that he would look at it afterwards, he just pulls my tights down right then to look. So, my mother-in-law got a good eye sight of my puffy goodies…. Thanks doc! He did mention that is was due to pressure and nothing to worry about, just uncomfortable.
