Let's Flamingle

Saturday, November 21, 2020

I can't believe I never posted this birthday party. It was one of my favorite parties that we have hosted. I first saw the idea on masseyspot.com and was dying to do the same theme. As the party got closer it was harder to get motivated. We were guaranteed to be in our house but knew that wasn't going to be the case so we ended up having it at my mom’s house. Her house is beautiful, I just had an envision of this day and it was quickly not panning out.

In normal Bethany form I started planning this birthday party months in advance and bought her swimsuit from Walmart. My parents live right next to their neighborhood pool but I wanted to rent a water slide instead of using the pool for her party. My anxiety level can not handle that many little ones and a body of water. We did have a baby pool and her play house out for kiddos to enjoy.

I also took my stab at the cake and I think it turned out so cute. I love watching these babies grow and watching her interact with other kids. Makes my momma heart smile.

May Recap

Thursday, June 25, 2020

May was the last month of me working from home and boy do I miss it. I am so very thankful for the quarantining and the extra time with my family. I hope that I never take that time for granted and it taught me so much about slowing down and enjoying our family. We discovered new things like hiking or flying a kite and it really helped us appreciate the slower pace of life. As normal life started to open back up it has been extremely hard for myself. I have my own opinions about returning to normalcies and believe this was the power of God and for us to refocus our love and attention back to our families.

Here are a few pictures from last month

Fayetteville get away (during pandemic)

Thursday, June 11, 2020

Like many people we had a very different family trip planned but was cancelled due to the pandemic. Chad and I both wrestled with the idea of a last family trip as a family of 4, do we just stay at home, do we wait a few weeks, where do we go. We finally just decided that now is the best time since I am getting further into my pregnancy with our 3rd child and didn’t feel comfortable being that far away from our hospital or doctor if we waited a few more weeks.

Planning a trip during a pandemic was a little difficult and a lot of the things we wanted to do was not open. So we got a little creative and made the best of our trip. We started off on our adventure on Friday afternoon right after lunch and headed to our first stop in Gentry, AR. We stopped at the Wild Wilderness which is a drive thru safari. They had safeguards in place, we unfortunately we had to stay in our car and not get out to feed the animals, etc.   However, the kids LOVED it. The animals came right to our car and the kids saw animals that they had never seen before. It was a wonderful experience and would love to go back when other parts of their park open back up.

That evening we headed into Fayetteville and checked into a hotel. The hotel pool was closed so I knew we had to find something else before Grady asked about the pool. We went to grab dinner before we headed to our next adventure. Grady wanted chicken for dinner so we actually made 2 stops, the first stop was for Chad and I and we stopped at Tacos 4 Life, it’s a chain but it was the first time we had ate there and it was amazing and luckily we have one in Tulsa. We also stopped at chick-fil-a and then we went to Gator golf for a little miniature golf. The owners were super sweet, Grady did NOT want to put his ball in the last hole and “lose” it, so they gave Grady an older ball for him to have. We also stopped for some ice cream at Shake’s before heading back to the hotel for the night.

The next morning, we headed to Natural Falls State park near Siloam Springs. The waterfalls were really close to the entrance and we were expecting to do a little more hiking to get there. The trails around the waterfall were a little dangerous as well but we venture on the ones we best could. The kids played a little bit in a creek, which the water was freezing cold and then we headed back home. It was a quick getaway and not what we had planned but we felt like we needed to do something with the kids before the baby gets here.
