I guess it's time to finally announce the birth of our daughter, Audrey Mae Nissen. She was born a few weeks early on August 18th, 2017 weighing 6lbs 9oz and 19 in long. To say we are in love is an understatement and have been soaking up all of her sweet snuggles these past few days.
Welcome to the world sweet baby girl!
Grady Lately
Thursday, August 17, 2017
Grady has been discovering his independence lately. He’s
also fluent with the word NO. We have also reached the throwing fits stage.
Personally this has been really hard for myself, I lose my patience easily but
also want Grady to learn how to emotionally deal with his emotions so it’s a
learning curve for the both of us. He is still obsessed with shoes and knows
that normally what comes with shoes and socks is going outside which he says
“side”. He absolutely loves his truck and 4 wheeler that when they are out of
commission he losses it! Doesn’t quite understand the meaning of broken. He
loves everything that is a car or truck and will point them out to you. A
couple of weeks ago there was a tractor mowing their field next to our house
and he was so fascinated that we sat and watched it for a good 30 minutes. I
just love it when his little brain is processing and taking everything in. He
loves his snacks “Naks” and is currently loving hummus, ritz crackers with
cheese or peanut butter, fruit snacks, craisins, and peanut butter. We love to
chase daddy and will say 1, 2, GO!!! Or just GO, or will tell you to GO while
he rests. Mommy is a little slow for him but we love to race throughout the
house. He said Audrey for the first time last night and my heart melted. He
will let you know when he is done and will say “none”. He loves to be our
little helper and I love that he can pick stuff up when I tell him to which
sometimes he refuses. He is a dancing machine and when the music stops he
throws his arms out to the side and says “Where’d it go?” We have also become a
littler creeper on our neighbors. I’ve also taught him to brush my hair and
I’ll just sit back and let him have at it, sometimes it’s more painful than
relaxing. And the sweetest thing he’s been doing lately is if you hurt yourself
or say ouch than he’ll come up and tilt his head, put his hand on your back and
ask if you are ok? Oh he has my heart.
35 weeks

Hard to believe that I am almost “Full term” and that this baby can
come at any second. I was having awful Braxton hicks the other night and crying
to Chad telling me that I wasn’t ready for all this again… A little late don’t
you think?? Anyways I’m hoping we make it to at least September, I know that
the total eclipse is on August 21st and I sure hope I do not go into
labor then!
This past weekend we were trying to pack the hospital bag and one of my
dear friends got me a mini bottle of wine for Grady’s birthday that I haven’t
been able to drink yet since I got pregnant and have been saving it but Chad
asks me if we were going to pack it in the hospital bag. Essentials right? No
honey I think we’ll just save that until we are home.
Wedding rings are still on and even though I have to soak my hand in
ice cold water to pry them off I am determined to wear them up until the end. I haven’t been having many cravings but a few
weeks ago pick up a bag of Werther’s original Caramel Popcorn and now I cannot
stop eating them. I grabbed an extra bag to take to the hospital, we’ll see if
it actually makes it. Oh and graham crackers with peanut butter and chocolate
chips, but that’s been my go to snack for years so I don’t know if that counts.
I only have about 5 weeks left and I am counting down the days until I can wear
normal clothes, maternity clothes are even getting tight on me since I am
carrying her so low.
I’ve always thought it was comical when people say to sleep while you
can before the baby comes. Apparently they have never been pregnant. Towards
the end of your pregnancy sleep is sacred and hard to come by. You are very
uncomfortable all the time even when you sleep.
Weekend Recap
Friday, August 4, 2017
Last week I was not feeling the greatest. The heartburn/indigestion was
getting the best of me and I had had enough by Thursday and decided to take off
work that day. Grady was keeping me entertained all day and by the end of the
day he figured out how to actually work the vacuum and it is game over now! Is
it just me or are babies the cutest in just a diaper?
Friday evening we went to my parents house to celebrate Chad’s birthday
(which was a few weeks ago). We also went back to Kiddie Park and Grady had an
absolute blast so much that he threw himself a fit when it was time to leave. It’s
funny because you can never tell if Grady is having a good time or not, he’s so
serious and just takes everything in.
Saturday we finally made it out to the Tulsa Zoo to check out the new
Lost Kingdom exhibit, it sure did not disappoint. It’s been cooler here in
Oklahoma and was pretty nice on Saturday but still HOT for this momma.
