3 years down

Friday, March 24, 2017

This past weekend we celebrated 3 years of marriage! Each year gets harder and harder to get time for just us but I cannot be more proud than to be this man’s wife. We have our moments like any other couple would but we work it out together. Sometimes when we fight about the most ridiculous stuff we won’t talk for a total of 15 minutes and then burst out laughing. That’s one of many things I love about us.  He is supportive of my goals and dreams and listens to every gripe and complaint. He is truly my rock and my person to lean on when times get hard. Chad Duane you make life with you easy and fun. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you.

One thing that we like to do is to try out new restaurants, fancy or not so much. This past weekend we tried out the new Ruth’s Chris in Tulsa. It’s located in a casino and don’t get me wrong the food was out of this world and they made it very special for our anniversary but it just didn’t wow me. I don’t know if it was the fact that we parked on the wrong side of the casino so we had to walk through all the smoke. Or it was that it was located right next to the margaritaville. 1 thing is for sure, they had the best paper towels from the bathroom. I went to use the restroom after dinner and came back with a purse full of their paper towels. After making fun of me Chad went to go use the restroom and low and behold he came back with some paper towels as well… umm don’t hate unless you know.

Sunday we were invited to a birthday pool party for a little girl. I was so excited to take Grady swimming for the first time but not as excited to be in a swim suit with a whole bunch of skinny b**’s. So I told Chad he had to get in with him. We went to our local Y and that pool was amazing so much to do for a little guy. They even had a lazy river!! We will definitely be back on one of my days off.

Update on baby girl

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

We are 15 weeks!!! And I am for sure showing, even though I was wearing maternity clothes already, my belly popped this past weekend and there is no denying that bump. I started a new group at the beginning of the year and I really haven’t told very many people in my group about me expecting. Every day I have someone/people stare at my belly, in a very obvious way. I mean these women are worse than men staring at your tits. It’ll be mid-sentence too where they will just look down and I just want to be “you have something to ask”??

We had our last appointment at 12 weeks where we found out the sex and I cannot wait to go back next week. My doctor scared me a little bit last appointment when he did an ultrasound. He said he saw another sac which was empty and it terrified me of course I’m thinking of all the possibilities like a twin that didn’t make it, something wrong with the baby, etc. My doctor didn’t seem too worried about it and I should either but of course for someone not being in the medical field I’m still a little skeptical and cannot wait to check things out next week. Thank goodness my doctor does an ultrasound at every appointment. As far as how I’m feeling, man it’s different. I was convinced that it was a boy due to the heartbeat and the nausea that I was feeling was just the fact that I was also taking care of a 15 month old. Nope, it was for sure because it was a girl. The sickness has subsided but I still have my days and STILL nothing sounds good to me. I really hope this doesn’t mean that baby girl is indecisive. I can only deal with 1 indecisive person in my life and that’s myself. As far as pregnancy pictures, we’re awful! I have skipped a lot of weeks already but we have managed to take a few…

Life of the party

Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Chad was a groomsman in a wedding this past weekend and we opted to bring Grady along with us. Chad was gone on Friday evening to the rehearsal dinner so it was just Grady and I. While I was giving Grady a bath I built up the courage to cut Grady’s hair by myself, it was looking a little shaggy and I wanted it to look good for the wedding. I mean how hard could it really be? Well just so you know a little is a lot on a baby and I’m not allowed to cut his hair unsupervised again. I really didn’t think it looked that bad but my husband and Mother-in-law disagreed and they decided to “fix” it Saturday morning.

Saturday before we had to leave for the wedding I was watching Trisha Yearwood’s cooking show and little did I know how entertaining it would be for Grady as well. This kid loves to help in the kitchen and apparently loves to watch people in the kitchen as well. He is also currently obsessed with shoes but they have to be un-velcroed. Every time I put his shoes on he immediately un-velcroes them. Here is my boy, on his moose with un-velcroed shoes watching Trisha Yearwood. Makes my little mom heart proud.

The wedding was 2 hours away so we got a hotel room for the night. Chad had to be at the venue early for pictures so Grady and I chilled and got ready while daddy was away. Can you say living the high life?

Grady was an absolute hoot at the wedding. He was dancing the night away and loved every minute of it. Hated it when they did their first dance or toasts, etc. I mean this boy can dance. Several times during the night he would just plop down laying on the dance floor to rest his legs. Of course we forgot to take a family pic so this is us in the bathroom of our hotel room at the end of the night. And apparently Grady still wanted to dance because he was kicking me all night long.

Our big surprise!

Monday, March 6, 2017

Since the cat is finally out of the bag I can share our little surprise on here! We are expecting a baby GIRL come September. This pregnancy has been full of surprises. We were planning on trying for another one soon but then we found out that we were already expecting. Both Chad and I were for sure it was boy and had everything picked out for a boy. Sure enough we would get another surprise that we were expecting a girl instead of a boy!

We decided to have just a few people over to take pictures and a video for us so I made a breakfast casserole (which I will have to share with you guys, so yummy), we also had donuts, muffins, and mini quiches. It was perfect.
