Mommy/Son weekend

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Chad was gone to Colorado last weekend for a guy’s trip (I know what you guys are thinking, best wife ever I know, now can you just tell Chad that). At first I was a little nervous about him going I mean I really like my sleep but Grady not so much so normally Chad and I take turns. It ended up not being that bad and really enjoyed our mommy/son time together because ever since Chad has been home it has been all about daddy… and I may secretly want him to leave again.

Excuse the weird shadow on his lip

So I may have been a little lazy and when Grady woke up I put him in bed with me and turned out the ipad to some dinosaur train. Is anyone with me or is every other mom super woman and can run on little sleep everyday?

We are also currently obsessed with shoes and want to put on every single pair he can find and then walk around in them #cutestthingever.

We all make mistakes

Don’t you love it when you go to church and the message is speaking right to you? Like there is a spotlight on you announcing to everyone that it’s you. Yup, but not only does this happen every once in a while I feel like this happens every time I attend church… hum maybe there’s something wrong with that. Back in the Fall we were having a hard time with Grady sleeping through the night and this message probably came after a bad night where I may or may not have told him to go the f*ck to sleep. Yes, I did do that and I am not proud of it but I tell you this because we have all been there. Where we are at our whits end and just done. I am a new mom and with that comes learning. Learning how to disciple, learning how to have patience, and learning how to love. So our pastor preached on discipline and there’s one line that still sticks out for me. Our children will not remember what is said to them (thank goodness) but more they will remember how they felt. Holy crap was this an eye opener for me and oh so true. I mean as an adult I don’t remember everything about an argument or discussion but I will remember how I felt about it.

Now that Grady is a toddler, seriously wasn’t he a month old like a month ago, he has gotten into the lovely stage of tantrums. Oh deer are they lovely and boy how they are embarrassing too, I mean why do people judge you and your child on how many tantrums or how bad the tantrums are rather than just realizing that they are a part of growing up. Some days I can deal with the tantrums other days I want to hide in the closet. I’m not a perfect parent by any means, and I struggle and I will struggle but I just keep telling myself that these days are precious no matter how hard the days are. So I declare that I will enjoy the tantrums with a little less hair and I will make my kid feel loved because it’s all about how they felt not what was said.

1st Haircut

I have been awful in taking pictures lately. I keep getting the error message on my phone letting me know my storage is almost full and instead of deleting photos I just stopped taking them all together. Any who please enjoy a little photo drop from the last few weeks.

Not only is Grady starting to look more and more like his daddy he’s starting to have the same mannerism as well. I mean 2 peas and a pod. Grady has also gotten into the super cute stage of bringing you a book to read and then sit on your lap for a total of 2 seconds before he’s bored. It was so funny because he brought Chad a book while he was using the restroom but that was a little inappropriate to share so I’ll just leave it to your imagination.

He also got his first haircut (insert cry emoji). Our hair lady is probably the nicest lady on the planet so his first hair cut was free but I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to learn how to cut his hair I can see a lot of dollar signs for haircuts in my near future with the way his hair grows.

A lot of people made us baby blankets and quilts when we had Grady and they were just thrown in the closet so I’ve been begging Chad to make a blanket ladder to display them. It turned out way better than expected. Thanks honey!
